What
is the Trail Patrol ?
The
role of the Trail Patrol is to monitor activity along the trails,
to provide first aid, equipment repairs, assistance, offer tourism
information, and to encourage compliance with trail regulations
and etiquette. The Trail Patrol will ensure that trail users are
safe and enjoy the use of this world-class facility.

Trail
Etiquette
All
trail users Obey posted rules.
- Do not
litter, disturb wildlife or make fires.
- Keep
pets on a leash, clean up messes and restrain them near wildlife.
- Allow
others to pass.
- Allow
horses to pass; talk to them in a calm voice.
- Be courteous.
Remove obstacles for others.
- Leave
gates as you found them.
- Respect
public and private property.
- Avoid
ski tacks when hiking or snowshoeing.
- Bring
lots of water.
Cyclists
- Stay
to right side of trail.
- Always
yield to other trail users.
- Ring
a bell or speak to announce your presence to others.
- Slow
down and use care around others.
- Ride
with a friend and tell someone where you are going and when you will return.
- Stay
on trail and do not ride in muddy areas.
- Avoid
skidding tires.
- Wear
a helmet!
Horseback
riders
- Use
extreme caution when tying horses, try to avoid tying them to trees and only
leave them tied for a very short time and do not leave them unattended.
- Never
tie horses within 200 feet of water.
- Clean
up manure and hay.
- Ride
in single file.
Cross-country
skiers
- Ski
on right side.
- Let
fast skiers pass.
- Do not
ruin track when getting out of it.
- Keep
skies wide when breaking trail as trail narrows with use.
- Fix
trail if you fall.
