Kent


Sentier NB Trail: Kent County is known for warm water and sandy beaches but also offers an extraordinary diversity of trail experiences. With trails in Kouchibouguac National Park and almost every coastal community in the county finding a trail to explore for the day or the afternoon is easy. Using Kent county's trails you can explore not just the natural beauty of the region but also its history and culture. The trails link National and Provincial icons such as the Bouctouche Bay Eco-tourism Site, Kouchibouguac National Park, and the Pays de la Sagouine.

In addition to tourism icons, Kent County also has an incredible diversity of natural features. Forest cover varies from mixed soft and hardwoods to pure stands of white pine and red spruce. Trails provide scenic views of many rivers including the Black, Kouchibouguac, and the Richiboucto rivers to name just a few.

Community trails in St. Louis de Kent, Richiboucto, Rexton, and Bouctouche give scenic views of the eastern coast of New Brunswick, picturesque marinas, and boardwalks. For a slight change of pace try the loop trail around St. Antoine, which offers a wonderful quiet wooded stroll around the entire community.

Trail conditions: Although most trails in this region are not built on abandoned railway they are still easy bike rides or walks.

Longest continuous section: 27km (Kouchibouguac National Park), 17 km (Bouctouche)

Trail connections: Kouchibouguac National Park offers a large network of both biking and walking trails to explore. The Bouctouche Bay Eco-tourism site also offers a tremendous boardwalk that explores the local dunes.

Features: Day adventures abound in this region on both land and sea. Warm water and Sandy beaches are common throughout the county. Both Kouchibouguac National Park and The Bouctouche Bay Eco-tourism site offer nature interpretation. The Pays de la Sagouine offers a look into Acadian culture and local museums and churches offer a further look into the region's history.
